Short hunt = silver and a nice button

Went for a short hunt yesterday in 40mph wind. I decided to try where an old, very small, sawmill once stood. Didn't expect to find much but did manage a nice 42 merc, 40 wheat and a very nice large general service button. The merc was shallow, about 4 inches, but surrounded by iron junk. Thought for sure I had found a half, the way the button sounded off but I'll take the button. The back of the button is one I have never seen before it says "Rex Products Corp. New Rochelle, N.Y."
The other item, I found a couple of weekends ago and is a buckle shield. It was used on bridle and harness buckles to keep the horses main or tail from getting caught in the buckle.

It is good to be able to get out and hunt for a bit.

I found the same style buckle shield on my grandfathers farm a few months ago. Same style with a heart on it. Very cool!
