Its Sterling at least with a date on it of aug 21, 1917 nice belt buckle Glad to get it but I'd be happier if it were 1817. Was fun though.I got a complete pepsie can and a memorial cent too.

Where did you locate it, as in a park or what since wearing a sterling buckle must
mean the guy should have been dressed very well for an occasion.
Any chance seeing the markings on the inside?
 
I got it in a old yard at a house. The stamp just says sterling and theres the date on the other side.
