Short Video 7 inch Silver Ring Coin - Recovery Deep & Recovery Fast

This is perhaps my nicest ring and when you see it you can appreciate it as a treasure hunter. I also think the comparison of Recovery Deep On or Off and Recovery Fast On or Off are worthwhile as well. Notice from the video that the "coin" part of the ring might have been on edge, at least partly. Watch the VDI numbers in the video and note how they change as I change the angle. Compared to those deeper zincs I've been digging, the E-Trac sounds off very well on deeper silver.

I am pretty sold on Recovery Deep Off. I do wonder if it up averages on deeper coins. Any observations from you guys?
I am going to start running Recovery Fast Off for a while as well. I have not lost a target found with Recovery Fast on that was switched to Recovery Fast Off. I have tested this on at least 10 coins at 7" or 8" deep and in iron. Recovery Fast off just sounds more clear, less sharp or broken. I don't notice VDI changes, you guys? I will try to slow my swing down to compensate. There is a great detectorist that goes by the name of Angel-lion I believe and he uses Recovery Fast Off for the same reasons and also just slows his swing to give the E-Trac time to "see" the targets. Of course, I would keep Trash Density to High.

In the pics below is also another nice small childs silver ring I found on the same hunt. I have found 11 silver rings in about 5 weeks!

The E-Trac Educational Series continues ;-)

Enjoy,
Albert

ps - Watch it in 480 and full screen by clicking on the youtube icon in the lower right, then switch to 480 once there. Watching the screen is key.

I have done the same thing about Deep Off and Fast Off. Angel in 2010 dug 1,000 silver coins! Amazing! I used recovery Fast for quite awhile while hunting in parks where there are a lot of trash. I decided since I am doing many more yards where trash is not a problem to try it Off and see how it does. I still leave Fast on in TTF though.

SWEET ring Albert! I always enjoy watching your videos.
Keep'em coming please :)

that ring is absolutely awesome! I too feel that recovery OFF is best for me, I feel I get more stable readings, and it just works for me!

Amazing ring, thanks again for the good video, keep up the good work.

Man your doin great with that Etrac Albert and that ring is gorgeous!

Way to go I love it !!!!

Thanks as always for the nice comments. As I've said I have a great time filming. Luckily it's pretty quick to move the mount around and set it up so it's not really a hassle, especially since I can watch what I'm doing and re-check numbers and such.

My intention is being fulfilled - educational videos...

More on the way and next week looks like it will be warmer.

All the best and good hunting,
Albert

ps - I actually find my first target today that might have sounded better with fast on, but it was only from one angle and barely so. I will continue running fast off more and more with trash density high and just watching my swing speed. I found 1 more silver ring today, another ring that I'm not sure what it is but it hit at 50 on CO and a find you all won't believe. I'll post that video later.

Great video's! I'm just curious why you only make one pass over the target, instead of several short swings over the target

OK, your videos are making me jealous!! :surrender: Great find, you are really making some great finds.

I have moved my settings back to deep = off, fast = off. I agree with you that it really seems to produce a cleaner target signal regardless of the surroundings.

I think your right and your videos are proving it for us as well fast and deep off and gain your at 28 that will make deepies sound louder as well and in the Explorer forum Bryce the moderator runs his SE this way after years of trial and error. Fast and deep off volume gain maxed out for to hear the deep targets better. IF it's a REALLY REALLY trashy site then lower it a bit as it will give some problems with close proximity targets so maybe go back to factory 24 or 25 or so. Keep the videos coming Albert thanks.

Tom

Great Jason. My intention is to make you Jeal... oh, I mean, these are educational videos. Right, I mean I'm changing settings! LOL
I have a cherry spot, I have to admit it, but I'm also passing up anything that doesn't hit as silver under the midway point on the depth meter. I am not digging a lot! Do report back and try to switch settings on deeper targets too. It would be great to get some feedback. My ONLY concern with running Fast off is missing targets but that has not happened yet (I am still running a lot of Fast On and checking targets.)

Jason - I'm happy to hear the videos are having an affect. As I said above, it would be nice to have reports back, switch settings, it's quick. Interesting what you said about Bryce. But, I don't have my gain maxed. I keep it at 28 as on those deeper signals they are a bit softer (I think). I actually need to pump the gain up to 30 when I find something deeper and film it. I do like a softer sound but not a soft sound as that can be missed. I agree with you about trashy sites and too low of a gain, as I typed this it was in my mind and then I saw you had said it (again). I haven't tried 24 or 25 but need to test that too! Thanks. I really just want to keep playing and then when I find what is optimal, stick with it, at least at this site.

Thanks again all, this is a joy for me,
Albert
