Short video - Iron Bounce on 7" coin and foil in plug

Short Edited Video - sorry about the wind at the beginning but I edited this down to be short and to the point - under 2 minutes.

Pay attention to the screen in discriminate - the iron bounces down to the Fe 17 discriminate border. Then watch it bounce a lot higher when in an open Quick Mask screen. I think for those of you learning the machine, seeing this iron bounce can be quite helpful, though it isn't as pronounced with more discrimination.

Regarding the consistent, yet bouncy signal in discriminate - I think this is partly the "Trash Density - high" setting at work - This setting works with your discrimination to "pull" or "lock onto" targets not discriminated out from those discriminated out. I have to say, seeing a repeatable signal with iron discriminated out at the factory program level and then opening up into quick mask and seeing a coin target bounce down with the Fe number into the mid to lower iron range is quite amazing. I really trust the E-Trac with discrimination and the Trash Density setting on high. This is not a recovery setting, it really seems like a good bit of programming to remove discriminated out targets from the response. I don't know that other detectors do it quite as well, relying more on pure recovery speed I think but correct me if I'm wrong.

Interesting that there was a dime sized piece of foil around 3" deep.

I wonder how you all have experienced iron bouncing? To me, this is an INCREDIBLE aid to identifying deeper or deep coins with the E-Trac. My soil is loaded with iron and though the mineralization is low, it is 1% iron mineralized. I do think this affects my max depth some. I mean 7" is not that deep at all and yet the bounce is quite pronounced. Why perhaps???

Enjoy,
EMS

PS - Thanks to the sheep for cutting down the grass. You guys wouldn't believe it, all in one day for this area. The grass in an area hundreds of feet square (and then on for acres) has been cut down from 3" - 6" to 1" or 2"!

Possiably cause you said you hit a coin sized piece of foil 3" deep over the 7" deep target it was playing with your numbers. I bet you won't see such a move in the numbers on just a target at that depth without another on or near it. This is why I say I don't pay attention to the fe no very much more to the sounds first and foremost.

Another very informative video, thanks for taking the time to do them.

Looks like the foil is off to the side of the plug and opposite the side where you probed the coin. The foil could've been disced out.
Good video,thanks for sharing.

Tom - I think foil would pull the CO number and the ground here is 1% iron mineralized. I get that bounce often, see the other videos. I think this is why my single frequency machines have problems in the ground here.

Djaymo - you are right as I rewatched the video, aluminum on the opposite side. I don't have it discrim'd out, I just guess it was far enough away. Videoing is cool in this way, we can be like detectives! (and it makes fisherman like lie difficult. Eheheh)

Thanks Iskirka and guys for responding
