Silver #1 and #2 for 2017

I'm still sharpening my CTX skills.... January was only my 2nd month with it. Hunted an old school last weekend for a couple hours and pulled my first two silvers for 2017, along with a no date Buffalo and 6 crusty Wheaties. I love this CTX... can't wait until I'm actually good at running it! HH All.

Congratulations! I always like finding war nickels.
Theres a thread running now in the Safari forum about bringing out the date on old Buffs. I mean, if it has no numismatic value as it stands now, Why Not?

Thanks Champ! Yes, I was thinking about trying to pull the date on that Buff... I agree, nothing lost as it currently sits.. I'll post a pic if it works.

Thanks Trojdor and Flysar. I think the school was built in the early 50's... so I was surprised to find some 30's coins there, I will be heading back there as soon as I can.

Champ, here is the "after" on the buffalo. I used vinegar and hydrogen peroxide. you can see a few lines starting to show through, but I can't make out what numbers they are.... a good test though, and a good reminder not to put any valuable coins in that "etch bath". I think this one was just worn down past ID though.
