Got out Sunday for a park hunt a couple cities over. Didn't know what to expect, but once we got there it looked really promising.
Basically the lay of the land is a bowl and looks ideal for sledding, so the hopes were high that we'd walk away with at least some clad. Started out getting my gear out of the truck and realized that my pinpointer had slipped out of its holster and was most likely in my truck back home, at least I was hoping it was. So now, I'm feeling the lows of a crappy hunt and we are finding nothing but pop tabs and junk. This park is a bit secluded, as it's behind a community school and at a dead end road away from houses, so it's probably a great party spot for the local teenagers.
There's a old road along the woods so we start walking it and finally I got a good dime reading and was thinking silver, as it read 12-45. Once I got the plug out, I couldn't get the signal to sound off. Had to go and get my buddies pinpointer ( I hate doing so) and finally was able to locate the dime. It turned out being a '62 Rosie, so now my day started looking better.
We headed down into the bottom of the bowl and we aren't finding to much, when I get another Dime signal. Dug my plug and flipped it out onto the ground and the Ike Dollar rolls out. Who in the heck loses such a big coin? The day was certainly nice with the temps in the 80's and 2 cool coins. Unfortunately, no other old coins were found, but I'll take a day like this any time.
Thanks for looking and good hunting.
