SILVER FRESH FROM THE PARK!

Goldstrike

Well-known member
When I go metal detecting, my thoughts are always on gold finds, but if silver comes up, I'll take it!! here are pic's of 2 finds I got recently. The ring is silver by the way, it's just got a gold tint to the pics.
I have a question, I just got through with reading ENCYCLOPEDIA OF BURIED TREASURE HUNTING by Karl Von Mueller(first edition by Exanimo Press) 80 pages chock full of buried/lost treasures that gets the adrenalin pumping and is enough to make any treasure hunter's mouth water!!!
Has anyone out there found any buried caches? You do not need to reveal specific locations but I think we would all be fascinated to hear first hand TRUE stories of your finds and maybe even a photograph of your finds?.

Nice silver Goldstrike, a ring and a Merc is a great day hunting! I went out the other day to find some gold and dug a lot of trash. No luck on the gold. I will hit it eventually.
Haven't found a cashe yet. But when I go to the farms up in Alabama I will concentrate a little more on that kind of hunting. The video that Ken linked is a good one.

Thanks Bunker for your comments and Ken for the video clip. It's amazing how all of those awesome coins fitted into that silver case!! that was truly an incredible find!! and it's times like those that are icing on the cake!!
Two days ago, I was in this out of the way old park not far from where I live, m.dting around the bases of some old trees which as we all know are prime places for great finds, anyway the Safari goes into the silver mode again and the old heart starts pumping again:yikes: you know the feeling when that monster fish is playing with your fishing line!!!.
I started digging down to about 8 plus inches and hit something. A plastic bag with a metal can inside!! It took me awhile as I carefully cut the bag open and started to extract the can. Then I saw it....the Pepsi logo:confused: Why would it be buried 8 inches in the ground???? I had a really good laugh and continued to swing! I love this hobby!!
