Here are some finds from my last few hunts. These coins and relics were found at a few different 1800's houses, at an old church and along some old sections of sidewalks.
It's getting pretty cold here in Ohio - just broke out the winter hunting clothes, extra lights and ground a real sharp point on the Lesche Digger so it will go through the frozen ground easier.
The Round Oak Stove & Furnace Company - stick pin was a cool find. This company was in business from 1871 to 1947 and was located in Dowagiac, Michigan.
A lot of people had a hard time pronouncing the name of the town - so right around 1900, Round Oak invented a fictitious Indian Chief as their new company mascot.
His name was "Chief - Doe -Wah -Jack" - the phonetic way of saying the town's name. This is the name that's on the front of the pin that I found - the companies name is on the back.
Ford Model "T" Ignition Keys were manufactured from 1919 to 1927. These keys were numbered from 51 to 74 - the key I found is embossed Ford on the front and # 52 on the back.
I found this photo of a complete set of Model "T" ignition keys on the internet.
