Silver ring

Hey Folks, got out for a short time late Sunday afternoon with the temps soaring to 42 degrees. Found this frog design ring at 6-7 inches in coin/jewelry mode, bouncing between 38-39. Kudos to historicaerials.com for helping me locate an elementary school off the beaten track which shows built prior to 1953. I didn't get to hunt longer than 20 minutes or so, because a couple of the faculty (yeah, on a Sunday ) came out and asked me to leave, which was a first. I never get asked to leave a public school as I always tow plastic bag for garbage and paraphrase the code of ethics for the curious...didn't work this time.. Did get a handful of clad. Thanks for viewing.

Sweet ring Ken, WTG! Love to hear that solid 38-39 sound. Glad you had a chance to get out and enjoy the afternoon. 42 degrees is a heatwave for ya'll lately. Sorry about getting asked to leave. Some people just don't understand.
Hope your elbow held up okay.
Looking forward to some more!

Thanks Bunky. Yeah, I could see it in her eyes, before she even spoke a word that she had already made up her mind that I was to leave. This before I could explain the hobby and the code of ethics. Elbow remains sore to direct pressure on bone, but holding up as long as I remember to switch arms periodically. Heat pad at bedtime works better than icy hot. Good luck,All.

Contact the local school board formally and request permission. Be sure and let them know how you will fix your plugs.

What I do is purposely keep a bit of glass, a rusty nail, a peice of metal and yes, a razor blade from the tot-lot sand area! in a protected and seperate compartment in my finds bag to show anyone what I've taken out of the tot-lot, playground/field and point out how I'm preventing some kid from cutting or hurting themselves with this junk I'm taking away with me! It has helped me on more than one occasion to show them I'm doing them a big favor!

I've found that this approach works. It trumps a lot of others and gives you the ok. Be positive in your interactions and let them know that you will credit them if anything historic is found.

It helps if you've been there a fw times on other subjects and they know you. Be sure you show how your digs are done and how the plugs are returned after target removal.
