Six Hour Beach Hunt on the Texas Gulf Coast!

TRIPLE-SSS

Well-known member
Just got back from the beach , 6 hour hunt and body is soar as hell, got a sunburn and just plain tired, like they say, no pain no gain. Took my GTI-1500 and AT-PRO. Both rings hit in the high 60 range, neither one is real 🤨, but nice rings anyhow. Buying another detector this month, wife not very happy, oh well, that’s life. I’m not sure, thinking either the Nokta Legend or Garrett AT-MAX, Cannot believe the depth with the AT-MAX in all metal mode, Crazy. Gotta go and take a nap!
TRIPLE-SSS.

That’s great day at the beach!

I know how you feel. Walked the beach a few days ago. Had to CRAWL back to my vehicle. Should have brought the horse. A whistle and. he would of come. Good Boy.

I LOVE my ATMax!! I will never part with it. This is coming from a Deus II owner! Max is and always will be a favorite machine.

I'm the same when it comes to my AT Pro, it was my first "real" metal detector and even though I use the Simplex the most now, I will never let go of my AT Prol

The AT Pro is a dynamite little machine with the 5x8” coil. Several of my bucket list finds were made with this combo.

Hey Guys, just a FYI, I just bought a Garrett-AT-PRO, 1/4” head phone adapter for my PRO so I can use a much lighter head phone when detecting in the hot summer. I was sweating real bad on my 6 hour beach hunt using the big bulky ones that came with AT-PRO.🤓

Were you anywhere near Port O'conner  ?

I have the standard coil and the 5x8. Today I tried the Viper on my At Pro for the 1st time and it will probably stay on.

The Viper is a nice coil.

Where on the beach...upper (Galveston/Freeport) or lower (Corpus/Brownsville)??

Not to piss on anyone's fire but if salt beach hunting I wouldn't be looking at an AT. There won't be a lot of difference going from a Pro to a Max. If you must have a Garrett (I'm not a fan) then you might want to look at their Apex, otherwise the Legend will be a BIG step up.

I'm just wondering why? I thought the Deus was the best thing since sliced bread.
Sure my Deus II is state of the art and the best thing since sliced bread but, I've found my best finds of all time with the AT series machines. They are classic and not going anywhere soon.
