Hit the old park again with low expectations and was blessed with three more nice finds. Slowing to a creeper speed in TTF seems to pull those buried treasures from the iron riddled soil.

The 1887 V is worn smooth, "still love it" The 1907 IH looks as if was lost the day after it was minted and the 1917 merc was a shocker as I thought I cleaned all the silver out of there.

The IH was lying next to a car antenna stem, which would explain the fluctuation in numbers but the 11-36/12-36 every now and then got me diggin.

Nice finds moose, congrats on pulling some keepers out of a tough spot. I finally realized how slow you need to go in TTF in iron laden spots. It is well worth it as you know. Thanks for the pics and story. -- Randy

That's awesome you're able to eek out a few more oldies from your spot :clapping:

I have a spot I've hunted over the past couple of years that was previously hunted, but they only got the top 6" of stuff for the most part. Anything deeper then 6" is almost guaranteed to be a teens wheatie, IH or silver coin. I've pulled a couple dozen barbers, SLQ, several IH's, probably 3+ dozen teens wheaties, etc from this spot. I hit it every time I'm in the area, and it's just about shut down, but I've managed to keep the site alive pulling a wheatie or IH every trip, but silver seems to have dried up long ago, although I suspect there is more there.

I just got my E-trac, so I don't have any experience with TTF mode yet, but I'm going to be up in that area this weekend and plan to hunt it with my E-trac for the first time, going very slow with the Pro Coil and then the Sunray X-12. Maybe even the 6" EXcelerator too :rolleyes:

Your post gives me promise that I may find a keeper or two that the other machines I've used didn't, we'll see what happens :drinking:

Good luck Brian and thx to all that viewed and commented. It's amazing what TTF has produced for me at this old park and most everything is six inches or deeper.
