Small date 1846 Braided Hair Large Cent

I was able to get out for about an hour or so this morning and low and behold,found a nice new cellar hole.It is a very big site,so I was only able to search in front of the former house.I found an 1846 LC with the small date however.A short but pleasant hunt and yes,I will be blasting this site to death in the near future!Looks like FANTASTIC potential here!The coin has been soaking in Olive oil for a few hours but definately needs a couple of days worth for the crud to come off.
Thanks for reading,Jason

Nice coin , their always fun to find, a lot of them are not in near that good of shape.. Good find.

You make me sick Jason!!!:puke::poke::spin:

Actually that's a great find and I'm glad you found it and posted the picture. We'll be looking for more from that spot!

that's great. It looks to be in pretty good shape too. All the old coppers that I have found lately look great when I first find them, but after they dry out all the detail falls off.

Finding all the old goodies:thumbup: Just not many pre 1870s coins in south west MO.One of these days I am going back east on a road trip and hunt for some large cents and the like.

Jason's back - be sure to leave some stuff for us other guy's !
