Snagged IH #7 today

Today my buddy Lowbatts and I went to a big sports complex that just had a big girls baseball tournament, we were hoping to grab up any lost rings. The place was awesome and has all the potential in the world for jewelry. I was digging every signal my coil passed over. It was actually great pratice, as I have only tried to look for old coins and don't really get good targets so this really helped out in my learning of my SE. After a few hours we went to another awesome spot, it was an old park. Lots of old houses on the hill and lots of history. I got a bouncy signal just like an Indian Head penny on my 3rd or 4th target, I thought to myself, this can't be that easy. Well I dug down like 4 or 5 inches and sure enough, a sharp 1904 IH popped out. So this is my 7th Indian Head penny so far!!! We were at the park of a short time then we had to call it a day.

Here is my take for the day:

...nobody tried to mug you this time out, right?

good work; nice coin! did it read 7-24?

LOL, I was at another park, but my buddy told me to keep an eye out for junkies in the wooded area of the park. I only use the smart find screen, so I have no idea what the number was. All of my IH's that I found bounced side to side on the top line and sometimes like a L (side to side on the top line then top to bottom on the right side of the screen. But I always find bits of nails too when I find them so that could be why they read so funny. I probably dig 50 nails for every IH I got. This was the first time I was out clad hunting with my SE, ever since my first hunt with it, my buddy showed me and told me to look for bouncing signals as most of our sites have been hunted 100's of time and most of the easy targets are gone. I guess I am learning the hard way but I have found a few old coins.

The last IH I found was next to my local Home Depot.I saw a patch of ground that looked good.Walked over and the first hit was an IH 1906.Spend 15mins more and got nothing.I'll go back soon though.HH..GR

The more you use your Explorer, the better you will get and sooner or later you will be able to call what each Target is in the ground before you dig it. I'd get back to that Park and work it since there is Barber there waiting for someone just like yourself to take home with them. Good Luck and HH.
