SO CLOSE !!!!!!!!

Friend of mine dug a 1916 merc on Saturday. Condition was gorgeous !!! Very little wear. He was afraid to wipe the dirt off the back til he got home to do it right.
NO mintmark !! Beautiful dime anyway. (I pulled a 1917 close by).

It's always fun finding them Coins and having that one moment of excitement hoping that this is "the one". One thing good about this find though is that you know that this spot has Merc's this Old and the next one just might be "the one" you've been looking for. Congrats on the Merc and Continued Success, Good Luck and HH to you.:detecting:

I feel your pain John. I went through the same thing a several months ago

A 1916 Mercury dime is nothing to cry about. I'd take her any day. Congratulations.

Nice find even though it's not a D mint mark. About a month ago I had the same coin, turned it over and I could see a mint mark but couldn't tell what it was. I dropped everything and went to the truck to get a magnifying glass. It had a mint mark alright an S just like yours! Oh well. HH

John,

Are you still digging silver out of that same park in Tulsa? (nice find btw) Are you gonna bring her to the 3-Forks meeting? I'd like to see her in person. LOL I will introduce her to my lady - a 1926 S SL quarter, I found Saturday.
