I am planning to do some of those lures for the next fishing season, they are very easy and cheap to make.:clapping:
 
I bet they will work just fine until they rust. Put a rind tail on the hook and you are ready to go.
 
If ever in a survival situation you might be able to find the components lying around the waterfront. I do a lt of fishing and may try to make one on the spot. Id think ypu could add a couple of pebbles to add casting weight.
