This great weather we are having here in NW Oregon generated a lot of activity at a couple of soccer fields over the last week, especially the weekend. It's been several years since I concentrated on all the sports fields in this general area and I was hoping for some gold jewelry to come my way. I can't get around as well as I used to, but I started out in the cool of he morning an grabbed the T2. I know what it can do an hoped the 11+" DD coil would help cover the ground before it got too warm and before I wore out. The latter usually beats the heat.
One soccer field sounds as if they built over an old demolition derby site that abounds in junk, especially iron. The other, which has produced in the past, from time-to-time, is nice and quiet. Running the T2 with 2+ Tone ID, a Disc. setting of '10', and a Disc. Sensitivity of '84', I was almost hoping to encounter iron just to hear the low-tone grunty audio, but it was just a quiet areas. No iron, no EMI, and, sadly, no gold jewelry.
Ten or fifteen years ago I know players used to wear a lot of gold jewelry, especially Hispanics, and while we have an abundance of them kicking a ball around here, I think they are leaving the shiny stuff in their car or at home. Even the coin-count pales to what used to be lost, but at least I hobbled away with something to show for my efforts. I've been using my Omega w/8", G2 w/5" and MXT Pro w/6
