Managed to get out 2 times in this past week....in between the rain.:|

Went to a park that I think hasn't been searched before...found a 1926 buffalo nickel right away(1st One!)

....then came everything else....lots of deep buried cans(12in)...I think Im starting to figure those out. Didn't want to miss a cache, so I dug them.

In any case....found some sterling jewelry, 5 wheats, 1 war nickel, 1 Sac dollar coin, square nail and unknown token, along with a couple bucks in clad. I know there's more stuff there....if only the weather will cooperate.

Nice assortment of finds. Seems like every time I get a 12-46 or 12-47 signal at 6" depth it always turns out to be a whole aluminum can at around 12" deep. Gotta love it; but if it signals like a quarter I gotta dig it.

Neb.....Yes, since I got use to all the tones the Etrac makes....I seem to do pretty well on the jewelry.....theres lots out there...we just gotta find it!

Ag.... I hear ya about those cans but I have found out that the signal is very quick on coin or small object. The can tends to be much stronger, spread out and longer. I just need to figure out how to tell the difference between a deep can and a stash of coins etc. Maybe theres a way???

I always dig the cans for the same reason and I feel good knowing that I did my part in removing some polution no matter how small it may be.

Raise your coil above the ground about a foot, and if it still makes the same noise, it is most likely a can. (Larger target, larger footprint) It helps me to do that, though IF I think it might be a cache, I dig it. (I have found 3, but not since the 80's)
