Some New England finds

goldbill

New member
Rob mentioned that there seems to be few finds posted so after getting a new password .!! I have been using the white 12 by 10 sef and really liking it . I have been working a waterfront on some collapsed pier structures . The ground is covered with iron. If I go all metal it sounds like the needle going across a record.(I wonder what percent here have actually heard that?).I use relic with recovery down to 45 and gain at 6 or 7. Targets are usually 3 to 4 inches on top of clay. A super slow sweep and digging everything .Goldbill

Wow.....finally some v3i finds posted..... You are saving history. Busted, Seated, English large cents, Half dimes!!! I envy every one of your coins.

Are you on the east coast?

Thank you for sharing.:beers:

You are doing very well Bill and it's always a pleasure to hear from you. Are you still in Maine? I seem to remember you said something about moveing some day but I don't remember the specifics.

Larry yes I am still in Maine the real estate market seems to have crashed here so I guess I am stuck for a while. I intended to move only a town away so still deep in the heart of Maine. I still think of you and Rob everytime I dig a large cent. I think I am at six so far this spring. Rob has posted some excellent stuff here this year ,I get a little better every time he posts his helpful hints. Kirk and I love the sunray probes and we seem to be the only ones here with them!! The other guys we run into don't know what they are missing..... Is the club going to have the annual hunt this year? Bill

Would be nice to find coins like those regularly. We dont have a lot of them here in the midwest, with out finding a very secluded area. Nice finds. Yazoo

I sure like the SunRay probes too Bill and really miss it when using a detector that it will not work on. We just had the club Spring hunt last weekend and went to a new location this year. 19 showed up and we had about 30 silvers and 125 wheats found of which my take was 6 dimes, a silver ring and 25 wheats. More about the hunt on our club forum http://www.findmall.com/list.php?78

I sure envy the the old coins you get to find out there and congratulations on the goodies Bill. Say hi to Kirk for us
