These are pictures of a postcard that will be sent to dealers to mail out. Photo credits to White's Electronics. If White's has a problem with this, let me know and I will delete. On the front of the card is my photo, lower right, of my first jewelry finds with the Vision back in Sept . 2008 with one of the first test units I had. I posted the finds on the DFX forum, but I could not tell anyone that I used the Vision to find them.....I just had to show off the 14K bracelet with 36 diamonds that VDI'd a solid +02 on the Vision. The icon said foil, but the audio translated into English said "dig me.....DIG ME". I expect my gold finds this year to increase many times over. The class ring is Silver with some gold plating on it.....no ID though...just a nice big chunk of silver.

Even the unfinished early Beta units were a joy to use.
 
Hey, is that "product placement" in that photo with the diamond bracelet? YOU BETCHA!!! :D

Nice finds Larry... I can't wait to bury some gold and see how the Vision detects it vs. my other detectors.

I believe that makes it quicker to change coils..?
At least that's my experience in comparison with the "down under" machine which has the coil wire go trough the lower and upper rod.:unsure:
 
:laugh: Sure is Brett. White's wanted some pictures of finds with the Vision and the early units were just black boxes. That picture was taken in my back yard last week. I just got home from a hunt and thought I had another gold ring, turned out to be a gold plated ring, but still pretty and another one chalked up as a Vision jewelry find......:thumbup:.

I'm really going to like this Vision.
 
I guess your right. It's just that in the past these wires were subject to being damaged, either in transportation or getting snagged on underbrush etc.
 
It sure makes it a lot easier to hook up the DX-1 too.

I know this is very early in the show but, in your opinion, how hard do you figure this machine will be to learn? Say in relation to a DFX or some of the Minelabs.
 
If the term was not already used, I would say a caveman......................:thumbup:

Really, the Vision is as easy to use as can be. If you can read the 12 page field guide it is "all you need to know" as it says. For those of you who can't resist tweaking, the expert menu is also very easy to use, but will take you quite a while to master everything. Not because it is hard, but there is one heck of a lot of things you can change........just about everything. Colors, language, size of everything, new programs, sounds, the way your screens look and what info you want on the screen even. The list goes on and......................................................
 
Looks like a beautiful detector! Proud to see a detector that will really improve the success rate with GOLD! Really curious about how this detector indicates the shape of an object in the ground? I believe I read a post that this detector is capable of just that!

Bob@Whites pointed out to me that the language package is not in the first release, sorry guys/gals. It is expected soon though.
 
will the Vision be updateable through software? Another dreamed for feature - they tweak the software, you download the latest version. I hope?

I think Carl is working on the wireless computer interface now and yes that is my understanding. Carl, Bob?
 
It is not our intention to create software that users can download and install. The problem is that when this is done, the detector must be fully recalibrated, which end users cannot do.

Since the language cat got out, yes, we will offer a Vision Internationalle with at least Spanish, French, & German.

I White's makes this firmware updatable via a wireless link and USB dongle to your computer. then they're really going to have something. Lots of devices are updatable that way - phones. computers. gps's etc., but the product cycle is so short that it doesn't typically amount to much since the latest and greatest 2 years down the road is so much better and cheaper that they quit updating the older stuff. In the case of metal detectors, the pace is a lot slower (for better or worse) and if Whites choses to go down the road of updates, they can really break new ground. It is widely believed that a certian "wonda from downunda" Pulse Induction detector was upgraded a couple of times by simply updating the firmware and re-labeling the machine.
 
Hi Carl,

I was not thinking performance options, but things like a language pack. Firmware updates would be perfect for things like that.
