Well, looks like the season is drawing near a close here for me. I checked my log from last year, and Nov. 29th was the last day I made it out. Looks like it will be about that time again this year too, maybe a bit into Dec.
But while looking at my log, I was pretty pleased with the noticeable effect the SE has had for me. Here are some general results (without revealing too much about my own pitiful total quantities...
). I've only had and used the SE since September.
By switching to the SE from my previous MXT, my overall 'keeper coins per hunt' increased a whopping 124%. (I define a 'keeper coin' as Wheats or older, silver, and pre-1950 nickels). Here it is graphically:

Now, the real kicker though is the boost the SE provided for finding silver . When just counting silver, I got a stunning 453% increase!
(Note, when you go from finding very little, to actually finding some on a fairly regular basis, that's what happens!). What is all the more amazing (to me, anyway), is this is still via hitting the same few hunting grounds. The only thing that really changed was the detector.
The only downside to using the SE so far is that I'm thoroughly spoiled by it... So much more to learn too!
