Sorry, another question about f-75 small coil.....

The weather has yet to get good enought to give the f-75 a good spin in the field.. but I want to know if the results will be much different using the 5* dd coil VS the 6.5 eliptical concentric coil?? The 5* came with the unit and I do like dd coils..................should I consider getting the 6.5 coil?? Is the depth or seperation any better then the 5* round,,

Any help is highly appreciated.

I have all three coils and the 6.5 elliptical is not a must have, you are in pretty good shape with the two coils you have. The little 6 1/2 will not give you the depth of the 5" but you can cover a little more ground and you can get in close to metal object like a fence. Good for tot lots.

6.5 is also better at discriminating out Rusty Bottle pop caps from the days of the church key...Being concentric it eliminates them better..........

actually tom dankowski prefers the 5" dd he claims
separation,AND depth are superior to the 6.5 elliptical.
i have the 5" dd,and from my perspective,it is an "outrageous"
coil,both in separation,AND depth!..just sayin'

Ohio is not much for mineralization.....so the concentric will work well.....get good depth......the 5" will get between trash better, regardless of mineralization....but if bottlecaps are a issue then the concentric. Heavy mineralization...the 5" for sure. If your doing heavy iron..like lots of nails...the 5" has better see through. IMHO

if depth is still desireable, but you just need a smaller coil (like in the woods) to "get between" stuff, the mono is a good choice. VERY good depth for a coil that size.
If you need the ultimate in separation, and dont mind sacrificing a bit of depth, then the 5" DD is your ticket. The mono is signifigantly deeper than the DD. "Nearly" the same depth as the stock DD.
Tom Dankowski does all his testing in Neutral fla soil, and thats not indicative of how it will work in average soils. In my soil...... *which I consider average*........there is a big difference in depth between these two coils.
Still, I prefer the 5" DD as most of my hunting involves a lot of iron, and separation is paramount.
the good thing about either is you can pretty much run em to the max and they are still stable and quiet.
