Yes thats what I feel like doing for the lovely lady I found today. For I had not found a silver quarter until today. Diane and I decided to go out to an old school yard near us the same one Doug found the 25 S Merc the other day. My first target was sort of bouncy there was a good target surrounded by junk but by following a tip Nick gave me by doing quarter turns around the spot I was able to get readings that made me want to dig it. It is a early Standing Liberty Quarter, it has no date but because of the lack of stars underneath the Eagle and the beadwork over her head I know she is a 1917 Type 1 MacNeil's Liberty Standing Design. My first silver quarter and a dandy one to find.

Beauty of a coin and nice recovery! Like the "dirty" pics LOL

There's bound to be more! Thanks for sharing

I do not know why but it is easier for me to find a seated quarter than a SL quarter,CONGRATULATIONS:thumbup:

This is off the top of my head but Seated Quarters were minted for 53 years, SLQ for only 14...so while much older there were many more minted and in circulation. Sort of like Mercs and SILVER Roseys.

That's a great find, definately worthy of a shout and a happy dance. CONGRATS!

That is a beautiful find bro and I really like to see that green turff behind it as I have only been looking at mud and snow for months now. thanks for the pic'

Bell-Two-----GREAT FIND in that lovely lady---congrats!!------We've only found two 1917's and that was way back in 2003.----I found one (1917-D) on 6/2/'03 and my wife found the other one (1917-D) on 8/14/'03.--We were hunting together and they were found in two entirely different hunt areas and were found approx. 10 weeks apart.---Funny how that works, huh? ----We have found other Standing Liberty quarters (some with readable dates) but none that old.------Keep up the good work--there's more for ya out there somewhere! --------Del
