Stay off the grass.

I ran into one of our founding members, several years ago while hunting at "Big D". I was on my way back to my car having been in the woods for a couple hours. He saw me sweeping the grass as he pulled up. Anyway he told me that if I wanted to find the good stuff to "stay off the grass". For the most part this has always been a good rule of thumb for me, as i have a number of good finds, from the woods I hunt. Today was definitely the exception to the rule. Jeff and I went to the "Lake where many stories are told". Andrew met up with us there. I ducked into and along some heavily wooded areas, for a couple hours. And while making my way to a water fountain for a refill, I found 4 wheats in a narrow grass strip between 2 parking lots. The other two did much better, working the open picnic area. I'll let them tell their story.

I found 2 mercs 44 and 26 also a worn 1916 barber dime( first target 50 feet from the truck). 20 wheats too no good dates. First and last targets of the day were silver. I was pleased.

I hear you Dave, I was thinking that place might be a good location for the Spring hunt........... It sounds better all the time.......

I would call that a good hunt........:clapping:
