Steamboat Arabia - An Absolutely Amazing Experience

I meant to post this a while back but forgot to. Last year I took a trip to Kansas City and visited a museum called the Steamboat Arabia (www.1856.com). Basically there was a large ship transporting goods from St. Louis to Ohio in 1856 and it sunk in the Missouri river. After many failed attempts, a company in the 1980's successfully recovered the ship and all it's cargo. There were literally thousands of items that were perfectly preserved from 1856. When I got there I had no idea how much of a treat I was in store for. I spent hours with my jaw dropped in astonishment. It's like a mini wal-mart from 1856 with every item you can imagine in perfect condition. There is a short video on the website under the museum info tab. If any of you have been there you'll know how incredible it is. If you haven't been there and you're interested in the past, you should go the next opportunity you get.
