I found this piece a few weeks ago and posted it on the "whatzit" forum, and someone finally ID'd it for me and I thought I would post here in case any one else finds one.
It is a "pocket sundial" and dates from 1920's- 1930's I was told.
It is made by Robbins Co.
The slot was for the blade and the hole was for a small compass to align the sundial to get the time of day.
It also has an Egyptian motif on the back of it.
I'd like to thank "Taxidea" for IDing this for me!!
