Strange piece finally ID'd for me....

I found this piece a few weeks ago and posted it on the "whatzit" forum, and someone finally ID'd it for me and I thought I would post here in case any one else finds one.
It is a "pocket sundial" and dates from 1920's- 1930's I was told.
It is made by Robbins Co.
The slot was for the blade and the hole was for a small compass to align the sundial to get the time of day.
It also has an Egyptian motif on the back of it.
I'd like to thank "Taxidea" for IDing this for me!!

I mentioned that I'd post the one I dug a number of years back, here it is. It it still one of my favorite finds just because it is odd. The gnomon is in place and can be lifted but it's hinge is badly corroded and I think it'd probably break if fully extended. The small circular area that looks like a second hand was actually a compass, the celluloid window is still in place but the rest of it is corroded away. Bets Wishes
