Put the 8x6 sef on and went very slow and picked a few goodies out of the trash. This coil never ceases to amaze me in the heavy trash.Hey Bob I guess we left a few good targets,Ray.

A courthouse? I'm just curious is the courthouse still in use? Around here if I tried to detect on the courthouse grounds I think I'd find myself talking to one of those funny looking robed characters, looking to mete out a little humble pie on my checkbook.

Courthouses are public property and some are not off limits.I know of a few that are open to detecting as long as no damage is done to lawns. The ones I hunt are here in MO and are not exactly show places any more. Many have historical connections and are off limits. You might be surprised if you do some research and ask some questions about hunting certain courthouse lawns,Ray.

LOOK LIKE IT WAS A GOOD DAY:jump::twodetecting::cheers:

From the looks of that Sharps and that Colt pistol ball the court house was Appomattox. :surprised:

Seriously nice finds.

Yeah I was thinking that the guys on their firing squad needed some aiming practice lol

It does sound like an interesting place to detect. I guess I need to find some that just aren't beauty queens anymore. Those are great finds, I wonder if anyone has had much success with old railroad depots, especially the ones that are no longer on a RR track anymore, or even in existence. I suppose it also depends on what is around you to search for. But this little post has me wondering about some old counties in Northern Michigan, ones that used to be big towns but are close to ghost towns now.
