Sunday coins $77.70 and silver

Gday :ausflag:

A mate from interstate yesterday so my friend Max and I took him for a hunt.
I lent him my Xterra70 and I used my fairly new Etrac.
I kept finding patches of coins concentrated together and the Etrac responded beautifully.
I had my Sens, set at manual 10 because we were hunting shallow coins using only screwdrivers and pliers in three manicured parks
One hole produced $11.60 and another $7.00 with a couple of "strings of coins" where I hit $2 coin after $2 coin with a small area.
Another spot had 3 old pre decimal coins ( 1x silver shilling and 2x copper half pennys) all within an inch of each other.
The silver ring came inat 12.47 and I did dig a discreet little plug as I knew it was probably silver by the TID and tone.
My mate from interstate had a good day with the XT70 he tried really hard for a gold ring digging all those little signals but lucked out however he amassed a very respectable coin tally.
My usual hunting friend Max had "one of those days" that we all have sometimes and luck was not with him...it happens eh ! I think I had his share of luck yesterday .

We hit the beach after lunch and I found $9.20 in modern coins in a fairly quiet afternoon session, plenty of exercise though.:) and the beach scenery was pretty good if u know what I mean.
The Etrac in beach and quickmask is awesome, I was using Sens. auto +2 and hit a $2 coin at 12" deep (minimum) my mate with my Xterra couldn't pick it up.
After using an Xt70 at the beach which is very chirpy the Etrac is so quiet and stable that I checked with a test coin a couple of times just to make sure it was working ok.
Its none too shabby in the park also.
Happy swinging

Wow--what a great day! Congratulations to all of you! What a nice bunch of finds. Good job on the ring--it's a beauty. Thanks for sharing the pictures and story.

Nice hunt T59,

Seems that your getting comfortable with the etrac, damn good machine when your familiar with it!

I've got a sneaky suspicion that I might know your detecting mate Max, and possibly you, are involved with Southern Seekers Detecting Club?

Just a hunch.

Cheers,
Greg

Yeah Greg we have met at the club mate
Haven't seen you there for a while though.
Your Etrac posts here have helped me get started ..so a thanks for that
Max is still mad  we hunt together most Sundays
Happy swinging

Haven't had the time the last few months, getting out for hunt is a rarity these days. Busy with work and kids, try to make the Sunday club hunts if the spot looks ok.

We'll have to compare notes sometime on the Etrac at one of the meets.

Good luck on future hunts mate.

Cheers,
Greg

That's a lot of coins - good job !
