SunRay X1 for E-Trac

Sunray is the best for new comers, but its has more minuses than Garrett. First its less sensitive to small targets, second its connected on coil cable and do to this you have very -very.. small drop of signal, another minus is if X-1 cable will broke you will have not working detector in the middle detecting day, if no spare upper shaft in the bag. its possible to solve this problem by making bigger hole in the upper shaft for X-1 connector in the shaft. I personally think garret is better.

What a bunch of baloney! You can "what if" all day, but I can do the same thing for any piece of gear. X1 not sensitive? You've never used one!

advantages of the X-1.....
1- it will operate in all metal, discrimination, or pinpoint mode just like the regular coil.
2- it doesn't need extra batteries that could die in the middle of a hunt
3- it responds through your detector headphones so others can't hear your signals
4- it is attached to the detector so you can never forget it at home OR lose it in the field.

negatives...
1- you might forget to switch back and have to re-search back from your last target dig.

Jason if you are happy its doesnt mean its best. Have two X-1 had used for two years one, looked inside and did allot more, biggest minus X-1 is10 inch cable from detector to switch box, its a bit to thin- not like minelab original coil cable, plus 3 connection switch where you have some signal drop from the coil--very little but have.
