sunray x5 coil

Thoughts on x5 coil ordered one from big boy hobbies should be here any day? What kinda depth will it get being so small?

depths are great with that little guy. I have a super trashy yard (1850's salon sat on my property so its full of rusty nails and such). I threw on the x5 and flipped to TTF. First night out I pulled out a 1903 indian (spot I have hit multiple times before but heard nothing). You will love it!

I found it to be way too slow to be enjoyable. It has awesome separation but you will be hunting very small areas for a very long time with it. I didn't like the depth I got with it either... deepest coin I got was at 4".

Just ordered the 8x6 and 10x12 SEF coils to see how those work out.

Go to the Explorer forum and read Bryce Brown's field test on the X-5 as well as other coils. Very good information that will help you or anyone else thinking about coils for Minelab machines. You won't be disappointed with the X-5. HH :minelab:

Last week I pulled a quarter at 6 inches that is my deepest pull with this coil but I run the machine wide open. It's a killer in the trash I only use it in the trashy spots because of the depth.

have used mine a little does work great and it gets good depth found indians and mercs at 6 to 7 inches the only problem is it takes a lot of time to cover a small area dennis

The sunray is a great little coil and can easily get a dime at 6 inches. I use it and the Kellyco Equalizer II coil which is a full 6 inch diameter coil. I don't think you'll regret getting the X5 for trashy areas as it has been a flawless performer for me.

I tried to find this review as I ordered one yesterday as well. Can you please put a link here, how long ago was it?

Thanks,
CC

:detecting:I love mine. I found a 1914D at 5 in deep. Silver quarter at 7 in. And other coins between 4 and 6 in my first week I had the coil. Slow. Slow. Slow to find the coins among the nails.

In extreme cases 7-8 inches. Normally 5-6 inches with great audio report. I only use two coils on my Minelab E-Trac. Stock coil and sun ray X-5 coil. Those two will cover just about anything!
