Super Clad Sunday! 135 coins

It was cold, 25 degrees, frost on the ground and frozen down an inch. That makes for some tough (impossible) stabbin', you can punch through and hit the coin, but then its takes too long to ream a recovery hole out. So I hit a few other gravel totlots I knew about. Then I went to the South side of some schools when the sun was up enough to burn off the frost, about 10 oclock, and commenced to stab, got two stacks, one was a pair of Q's, the other a Q and two pennys. I was marking coins through the frozen ground, just sort of reconnoitering around the school, so I have something to go back for. Four hours of swing time got me 135 coins, 70 of which were pennies, 10.45 dollars, one 1951 wheatie which was on the surface next to a sidewalk. No good jewelry, couple of cheap earrings and this copper ring..
Running again 55 sens, -3thresh, DP tones on the F70. Just amazing how much money is laying around out here, I hunt within 15 miles from the house, all sorts of schools, beaches, totlots, sportsfields, just wondering how long a fellow can keep up the numbers?

Way to go mud, yes it was cold out there this a.m. I didn't do so well myself

Now those are great numbers, mud. I'm not even going to mention my soccer field hunt. I would have to miss the super bowl, pizza and toddy to even come close to competing with your numbers. Good hunt! Enjoy the rest of the day. HH jim tn

Nice haul Mud.

Yeah Rick, does the frost mess with your detector? Give all sorts of squirrelly sounds and hard to pp? Jim, I went back out this afternoon, the Wife sent me out on an errand for some Corona... She should know better! Real close to home at a high school and gravel totlot and got another 2.42, 38 coins. an hour and a half! Those gravel lots are really tough hunting, seems the coins are on edge, or theres no halo effect like in dirt, plus theres all sorts of hotrocks and crapola in them, the good thing is you just sweep with the side of your foot and can find the target pretty fast. I found a Q, that was an honest 6" down in the rocks, an into the substrate! 7Q's, 4D's and 27 pennies.
Thanks Blade, did you get out? Supposed to be in the upper 40's tomorrow, so I'll go and check the boatramps for a little.

You have dug a lot of coins this weekend. I got around 140 in total myself. That is more digging and scraping then I am used to. Old coin hunting is less taxing. LOL Have a good week. HH jim tn
