:super:She was big...sitting at the cabin site...and well hidden:surprised:

seems to be "endless" for producing keeper coins. I have spent the entire day there before and come up with nothing though.

Each seson the farmer "changes" the hunting ground for us...and sometimes grass and weeds are shorter than other times...so the possibilities are always there.

Darrell and I have checked into the history and activity around this place...and it is AWESOME.

As for relic hunting with the SEF...I have never had the opportunity so I can't give you an honest opinion. For parks though..I can say it is a KILLER for me.

If I didn't take the time to experiment...piddle...compare...etc...I would not have ever found the optimal combination of settings that produce for me.

I also have been blessed to test and try many coils to see what actually works for me and produces better for me.

As for the temps...yeah I know......but when the itch hits me...I'm going hunting no matter what:cheers:

Thanks for responding.

it hooked up and fitted like all my other coils do.

If you can clarify a little...I'll try and answer further.

WTG Bryce !! Everybody loves a spot where the targets are poppin' but there's nothing like the satisfaction of hunting a tough area and pulling a couple good keepers. The challenge makes it exciting ! Watching your posts has made me consider a bigger coil. I have areas that I KNOW are still hiding oldies deep down. Going from the stock coil on my SE to the Pro made a big difference - I can imagine what a bigger coil would find.
Which of the larger coils would you recommend for general use?

Man Bryce, you are getting me excited here in Michigan, now if i can just get rid of a foot of snow, life would be great. Well I did it, just ordered the 10x12 SEF for my EXPII. Looking forward to giving it a whirl.

Nice finds there Bryce.:clapping: Too bad there is a hole in that seated quarter, but we know why most of those coins had holes in them and still it's a sweet coin. If only those old coins coin tell the story huh?Hope you didn't get frost bite and glad to hear that you braved the elements to get out. HH.

I can't give an opinion on it other than the initial run.
That initial run though was AWESOME. I was honestly not expecting it to have the sensitivity that it had to smaller coin sized targets.

When you are talking "bigger" coils...to me they need to be separated more concisely.

I did well at this site on other hunts with the Sunray X-12 coil as well as the 10 x 12 SEF coil too...but to me those are almost considered near stock sized coils these days. They can also be used as everyday coils...which I DO use them as.

A large coil to me would be more of a "Speciality" coil like the 12 x 15 SEF...the 15" WOT...the 14" Excelerator.. the 16" Excelerator...and now this monster 15 x 18 Beast.

Only more time on this coil will let me know just how good it is in the long run...but my initial impression is that it is a killer for open area, deep coin hunting...and I WILL be putting more time on it at those types of areas.

I have not had the opportunity to use the 12 x 15 SEF coil but have heard it is a good one...and I know for a fact that the 15" WOT coil is a good.
I now know this 15 x 18 monster SEF is a good one too:thumbup:

NO WAY I'm gonna' do any side by side comparing on these big critters though. I'd end up having shoulder surgery:smoke:

Thanks Bryce. Makes sense. I have the pro coil so if I was going to a larger coil then I should probably skip the 10x12.

Vey nice finds by the way

Actually I'm doing okay...with a few ibuprofen and a few Advil tablets of course. Doc's Swingy Thingy saved me.

I would do it ALL over again though:cheers:

On a more serious note....it truthfully wasn't that bad. I basically let it rest on the ground to absorb most of the weight...then slowly scanned the surface with it. It is heavy...but was well worth the effort.

That was one outstanding hunt, Bryce. Congratulations on those great finds....especially that Seated Quarter. Looks like that "garbage can lid" did a good job for you. Congrats to Heavy D on his Flying Eagle Cent too. I enjoyed reading your post. Well written. You have the gift.

Great finds and hunt. Thanks for writing it up for us.
What really excites me now is I have a new 15 x 18 SEF sitting in the other room just waiting for the thaw!
Can't wait to hear more on how yours performs. HH

AWESOME HUNT GUYS  LOOKS LIKE THAT 15X18 IS A KEEPER COIL NOW FOR SURE, PULLING OUT SEATED AND INJUN'S :surprised: TELL HEAVY D NOT TO CLEAN THAT COIN TO MUCH OR IT MIGHT BECOME A FLYING SAUCER LIKE MINE:veryangry:

Those are great coins you guys are finding, and to do it in the snow, its great, I don"t have the nerve
to go out when it is that cold, way to go Bryce and big D Virgile in Okla.
