EVERYTHING with the 10 x 12 SEF. It is what it is for me...my settings...and my sites...1) better separation...2) crisper sounds....3) better in iron...4) seems to be better depth...5) rarely dig ghost holes...6) dead on pinpointing.
No way I'm doing any side by side comparisons with this big 15 x 18 horse though...otherwise my shoulder and I would not be on speaking terms
I don't need to...because after only one hunt it has completely proven itself to me for open areas....deep coins in iron...and stability.
As for trash infested parks...I wouldn't be foolish enough to expect an 18" coil to work miracles and separate like my 5" Sunray or 6" Excellerator.
I have not had the pleasure of using the 12 x 15...but I have the 15" WOT and love it too.
After using the 15 x 18 at my most productive yet POUNDED site...It is a WINNER.
I have learned so much over the last year while field testing different coils.
I learned the Sunray coils are absolute KILLERS...ALL of them. Probably no big surprise to many...because Sunray coils are pretty popular already. For me though...I learned so much and what different coils are actually capable of...and more importantly...WHY they are capable of it.
The results of of my testng for Sunray will be in 2 different Western & Eastern Treasures magazine issues in a couple of months.
I also learned that the SEF coils have opened up new doors for MANY hunters. I had the pleasure of using and testing the 10 x 12 SEF before it became readily available here in the U.S.
What I found was a whole new world of deep coins that I had been previously unable to touch because they were either too deep...hidden in trash..hidden in iron...deep and on edge...etc
The 10 x 12 SEF amazed me and I tried to let others know about it.
EVERY one of my hunting buddies went out and bought that coil...NOT because I told them too...but because they SAW what this coil did...and WATCHED and HELPED me dig the hole and pop out the coins.
I NEVER tell anyone to go out and buy a coil...but if I am asked...I will sure as heck give them an honest, and unbiased opinion on what produces for me.
That's what happened with the 10 x 12 SEF coil. A couple of years ago I started finding stuff...nice stuff...and quite a bit of it. I then posted and let others know what the 10 x 12 was doing for me. Before long...lots of people were using it...and now...well...the 10 x 12 SEF coil is one of the most popular coils available...and for very good reason.
I can't wait to use this big dog 15 x 18 again in the future. I have 4 or 5 sites that are pretty open and have deep coins still hiding...I'm sure.
What amazed me the most about this monster 15 x 18 was the ability to remain VERY sensitive to coin sized targets. Just incredible
