Super12 Coil and the V3

butch

New member
Well I received my Super12 coil from Whites last week and only got a chance to use it in the last couple of days. The results are great! I plucked eight pieces of silver from an area that we hunted all summer, two pieces were in the same holes previously dug,but down 3 inches deeper. What a difference this coil has made! I am just using the stock coin format, with no other tweaks.Sweeeeet!!!!

I'm thinking that will be my first coil. I'm wondering if I'll see any improvement though since I live in CA where the soil is highly mineralized. The DD coils usually run deeper around here.

My favorite three coils for my MXT are the same three I liked on the V 3, and those are the 5.3 Eclipse for perhaps 90% of my detecting. This is because I like the 'feel' and balance, as well as the very good trash handling capability.

The 950 Eclipse for typical urban open areas, such as sports fields or smaller beaches, etc.

The 12" for larger open areas (low target count) or older parks and other sites where I anticipate some deeper targets, and where these sites have been hunted a bit to clear some of the shallower masking trash. Also big beaches, open plowed fields and the like.

Congrats on your silver finds!

Monte

That sounds encouraging Butch, I have a 12" coming and anxious to give it a try. I'm like RacerX, haven't had much luck with the 12" in the past with my DFX in my ground but maybe it will be different with the V. The DD coils has always worked best for me.
