Superiority of the F75

To begin I

Wait till you get your hands on the LTD

The F75 is a great machine I had one for three years but the LTD is the next step. The F75 may be perfect for you dirt maybe you have no EMI?

The LTD makes improvements on the F75 and yet you can still use the LTD as an F75. At first I didn't see the difference till I found out how much more stable it was and how I could push it more then the F75.

And the air gap blew me away when I was hunting high grass and pine needles and I hit a dime a silver Merck that the DE mode or any other mode on the F75 could not hit.

Then there are the fringe targets...the targets that the F75 will miss less you dig every target, the Boost mode will elongate the sound the tone and it gives me a reason to dig.

Now I think the LTD is gone for good but I know Fisher has to have a new platform coming out and a new top of the line detector...The question is when?

It seems that Fisher is not just sitting on their hands but they seem to be working on growing even more by moving forward. I think whites kind of blew it and some of the others have not done anything for years.

You don't have to make a detector to just make one you have to improve it because we live in a time where electronics move very fast. Here today gone tomorrow.

But the F75 is a classic in the top ten the LTD is the next step and it works... now we have to see what is next. Fisher's new gold machine looks like it will be a interesting relic machine. You just got to love Fisher when you pull history out of the ground and say wow!

Mark,
What blows me away about how my F75 (of the LTD variety) performs is the number of on edge coins it finds in areas I've gone over pretty thoroughly with other detectors. First couple of hunts at one school yard I came home with about 3 times my normal clad haul and, when I could tell coin orientation, a lot more than half were on edge. That was a really new experience for me.

Ah great LB - Just when I been thinking lately about upgrading the F-75 to the LTD you mention "Now I think the LTD is gone for good but I know Fisher has to have a new platform coming out and a new top of the line detector...The question is when?"
Now I have to not only think about the LTD, but ponder the when & what will be next. I sure would hate to get the LTD just to see within a year something new gets introduced. Kind of puts a twist to the shorts :poke:
After thinking about it some - I think I'll back down for awhile since I have have a handful of detectors, and when I had decided to get around to purchasing a new F-75, the LTD came out shortly after. I would in a way hate to have that happen again.

The F75 and LTD are great and will always be a great backup to what ever comes out in the future. I think it could be a coin hunter with a lower FREQ for silver or maybe a combo for relic and coins but more placed on coins, The LTD does a great job on coins and tokens and once you have had one for awhile you learn to understand what it may lack as a coin hunter. So a new coin hunter like a reved up F5 and maybe release the LTD again???? I would hope Fisher goes beyond what white's did I would take less bells and whistles for a machine that can go deep real deep.

The Africans are apparently now discovering that the F75 works for gold like a T2 does. For anyone who hasn't been paying attention, used T2s are going for well over $2,000 at auction:surprised:!

Have you checked the F75 situation lately?

The 1st gen and LTDs are drying up - and when they are available it's at premium prices.

If you haven't already bought an LTD, waiting until the next top-of-the-line from Fisher might be your only choice unless you want to pay a hefty premium over MAP.

BTW, excellent review Mark:thumbup:!

First off I don't want to down any machine I've used in the past because each machine was a pleasure to use and learn.
My first machine came from Finger-hut, back in the 80's. Don't remember the name.
Then the Vaquero
Then the Tejon
Then the Ace 250
I've also used the Lobo super trac and the Tesoro Compadre.

Each machine served me well until I purchased the F75.
