T2 and gold

utmike

Well-known member
I don't own a T2 but saw one hit a VERY SMALL gold Piece at 6" the other day. Pretty compelling. I've been saving for an X70 and my wife wants a T2. Anyone else using this combo?

My thought was to get the 70 for those times when I am able to get out to some claims and also use it for coinshooting which I devote alot more time to. I've seen some success stories with the minelab on nuggets but haven't seen much for the T2. If anyone has some experience with nuggets and the teknetics, please share them. I'd like to make the best purchase possible because on my budget, I'm not getting a second chance. Either way, there is at least one T2 in our future.

Thanks guys!

utmike, I haven't done any prospecting but the manual covers it. You can google "Teknetis T2" and it will give you Teknetics web sites and you can click on the manual ( on the right bottom ) and read the manual. The T2 is pretty much an all around detector. The best I can do as far as prospecting is I took some pieces of gold and passed the loop over them and detected all of them one at a time. The bigger the gold the deeper it will pick it up. The smaller pieces I could only pick at about an inch, but it will pick up gold with no problem. In the photo the bigger pieces I was picking up at about 3 to 5 inches. that doesn't necessarily mean that you will get the same results in the ground. I hope this helps. You can always get the T2 and then decide if you want to get the second one. If you have any questions give me an e-mail at bwalters10@carolina.rr.com

Thanks to all (including PM's) for the input on the T2! Seems like sometimes, people are very defensive about their machine and everything else is inferior. The T2 however, sure seems to have earned it's bragging rights! The forums on this site are the best source of information I have found to help me as I progress in this hobby/obsession!

Made a commitment to a freind to buy an x-70 and feel it's important to stand by it. I figure I'll be a pretty happy guy have access to what both seem to be great machines.
