T2 se?

Hello to everyone,i am new to the forum.I recently bought the t2 se to replace my safari because the safari had too many audio tones and very hard to tell the difference in a . 58 drop or an old square nail(target ids are both 32-34). Anyway,i took the t2 se to the camp i have been hunting and ground balanced at 64 with my settings at 80 sensitivity,40 discriminate and 2+ tones and i was getting an id number anywhere from 70-90 on old square nails....i triple checked each hole to make sure their was nothing else in the holes. I also messed around with the sensitivity, discrimination and tones but couldnt get anything to not pick up the square nails. My brother has an at pro and he goes over the square nails and gets either nothing or a very low id number SO can anyone help me with this,i would say its the soil(east tennessee) but if my brothers at pro can discriminate the square nails then surely this t2 se can do the same.. Can anyone suggest some settings that may help? Like i said i have only had the t2 for a week now so im still learning. The place im hunting is a union cavalry camp and square nails everywhere so this is really frustrating especially when my brother pulls 3 union cavalry buttons and ive got a pocket full of nails. Thanks in advance and great forum!

There are several things that can be at play here. Your ground balance could have been way off for one. Try balancing it several times and make sure you're in a clean area when you do so. Try zero disc using the two tones. If you're in a ton of iron trash, don't use the boost mode as it will drive you crazy. Lastly, you could try re-booting the detector. Square nails should never read that high. You've got one of the finest machines on the market right now. It will reward you if you spend the time and get to know it. Good Luck!!

Unless rare ground in your area. GB affects the Id on the T2's .

depending on the mode you are in.....sens..is more than likely your problem..i run 10-15 and have more than enough depth...very powerful machine..good luck
