T2 vs T2SE

I know it's relative to a lot of varying conditions but what anmount depth difference do you feel the boost process adds. If you can't compare the two, what honest depth do you get with the regular T2 and what state are you in and which coil do you use?

California , Standard T2 , stock 11" DD coil , 8" on a 1940 Quarter a clear and distinct signal . Sens 60 , Disc 51 , tones 3 . I am confident this unit will go deeper I still haven't mastered all the ins and outs of it .

I have only owned the 6.5 standard T2..My friend does own the Se Version. Tone change, and something I noticed when he let me use it..

The bp mode is good..but works better over tall grass or brush.. When I laid it to bare ground ,or cut grass I noticed it over saturated the ground with the out put signal.. So yes it was deeper, but not usable depth in my ground.. So a lower sensitivity was required.I did hit some nice 6" targets with the coil raised 4" above the ground and in Bp Mode..

I also hit some very nice 9" targets with the 6.5 standard, and I believe if they had been deeper, it would have hit them too.

Central Illinois, T-2 6.0, stock 11" DD coil. I found a silver Rosie at an honest 8" in some dry beige clay last month. Not the good black earth I normally dig in. Audio signal was strong, but no VDI.

The boost mode is more for hunting in tall grass ot anywhere you can't get coil to the ground. It make a nice difference there!

Only times I use Boost are in long grass or to check an iffy signal, most of the time 2+, sens-85, disc-8 works wonders.

Take a look at Mal's testing in below charts. BP=boost process/mode. Measurements are in inches.

Using a 14 month old T2 LTD, 11

I have been using the 6.5 T2 for about 6 months now and there are so many variables to the amount of depth you can achieve. Once I became comfortable with the machine I was able to get more depth out of it. I have already hit mercs and rosies at 9 to 10in. Bigger targets much deeper. When the ground conditions arent as good 6 to 7in is about the most. The settings you run play HUGE part in the depth you will get also. I live in PA and our ground conditions arent to bad so I usually pull pretty deep targets regularly. I dug an 1876 Indian out of my front yard at about a ft. The dirt was loose and the ground was damp. That was probably my deepest small coin to date. Copper creates the halo effect much faster then silver coins so you will pick them up deeper with a clearer audio. Usually. The T2 seems to be a copper magnet. If the copper is down there the T2 will pick it up every time.
