I decided to hit the woods today to try my luck, before warmer weather halts hunting in the woods, because of ticks, undergrowth and snakes. I set the up the T2SE in the boost mode, 90 on the sensitivity, and the discrimination set at 10. I dug all signals above 50 and few in the 40 range. Most of the targets in these woods are shallow and if you get your coil anywhere near one of them in the boost mode, you'll get a strong signal even if your coil is a half a foot off of the ground. The little NEL Sharpshooter is great for this type of hunting, because you can easily get in between bushes and back under fallen trees with it. I always love finding Buffalo Nickels, but what amazed me the most today was finding a small bead. The T2SE hit the tiny bead hard. I liked to have never found it. I also found a bunch of pre1900 shotgun shells, some old bullets and a Mexican Peso. Oh yeah, I also found a dog tag. It gave a ID number like a half dollar and when I saw the the silver edge I was a happy camper until I realized it was a stupid dog tag.
I'm liking this T2SE a whole lot. Trust me, the boost mode is a nice feature to have when you're hunting a place like I did today.

I forgot to post my best find of the day, an old antique bottle that was manufactured around 1900. I found it right off and didn't want to carry it with me while detecting, so I hid it on the side of a trail. I picked it up when I went back to the car to eat a sandwich. It was few inches deep and I would have never have found it if it didn't still have the metal pull for the stopper still in it. It says Buff City Bottling - Memphis Tenn.
At any rate, I think it's a neat find and is fun to think about the history that goes with it.
