Talk to me about the F5

I don't see many folks using it. How does it compare to the F75, for example? What about depth and target separation?

If I like what I hear, I might get one.

John the F5 is a great machine. It doesn't have same coil as F75 so its not really fair to compare. You can get the F5 with a 11" DD coil like the F75. The F75 is going to be deeper in most places do to the power it has.

Also look at the Teknetics omega 8000. It is made by First Texas as well and is the newer version of the F5. its a GREAT coin and jewlery machine.

Call me with any questions or for great pricing! Bart

F5 is a fun to use coinshooter, jewelry machine, great user friendly interface, fairly quick learning curve. Seems to max out around 6-7 inches with an occasional 8" target. Look up some of Mike Hillis' posts on the F5.

Mine works GREAT. Use it on the beach most of the time (salt and fresh) and school yards. Got about 251.11 in coins and one 1825 half dollar and 625.00 in gold and silver this year. Depth depends on soil cond. I'm finding most coins 3-5" in this hard Virginia clay. On the beaches up to 7-9 inches My gain around 70 to 90 thresh 0 to + - 2- or 3. Every detector is a little different. Try different settings THE BIG QUESTION GB. Most of the time I do not have to where I am in Virgina. On the salt water beaches the best you can it will still pick up any good signal (40 years using ONLY FISHER DETECTORS.) Oh yes I'm retired and have a lot of time to detect, sometimes 25-30 hours a week. Any Questions pleas ask me.

in my opinion their is no replacement for the f5 its 1 of a kind a great metal detector

John, just do a search for all posts by Mike Hillis. FindMall's F5 Guru. You will learn everything, and I mean....everything about the F5. That's the quick way to get the info you want.

John, I have an F5 that I'm running a 12X10 SEF coil on and it can go quite a bit deeper than the stock coil. The first time I ran it with the big loop I found 2 mercury dimes that were at an honest 8-9 inches. Nice little machine.
