Tecnetics T-2 15 inch coil

Ordered the 15 inch coil today.. Juan stated only 5 have been ordered so far with the T-2 up grade. Hard to believe with such a great price. Thanks Mega for your feed back on this coil. Was hoping for more feed back.

The price is great. It is a deep seeking coil. But it just too darn heavy. I think that's why it's being offered at such a drastically reduced price too get rid of inventory. Don't get me wrong, it is an awesome coil. Someone said on this forum, might have been Mega B, it's like swinging a paving slab. But if you're a young buck that may not be an issue.

I've heard it is too heavy, but for 99 I guess it's worth a shot.

@ ccs, have you had time to try your new 15'' coil out yet ??? if so what is your verdict on it,was it worth the purchase.

Sorry to hear that it had to go back,so my assumption of it being like swinging a paving slab was pretty accurate

Well after giving this coil some very serious thought and what the possible potential of it could be on some of my sites, also highlighting the fact of the weight i was able to buy a brand new one that some one bought at the reduced factory price then the new owner found the weight was was massive.

So in the end i bought it at about the $70US which i thought was a bargain price for this new coil, what ever way you look at it it wont change the fact its still heavy although in my case it was not a heavy weigh price wise,so what is my way of thinking and why did i change my mind, well a couple of reason why.I have some very good pasture sites and also ploughed and rolled sites that i am almost certain have deeper targets that the stock coil just cannot reach any more.

This coil is made by the folks who designed the T2,so it will be matched perfectly to gain this extra depth,so the major problem i still needed to address was the weight issue, well as luck would have it i had the Docs Swingy thingy to mount half way down the shaft and also a spare GPX full harness as used on the ML Pulse machine which is also a heavy old beast,so i found out by using the 2 things together ie Docs lower bungee and the Full ML harness i can swing this monster setup all day long i feel.

So basically what i have achieved is a Mega deep machine for my sites, that the coil was a perfect match with the machine and i have made it acceptable to swing for longer periods of time, the T2 is a deep machine as standard but when coupled with this 15'' coil it is very deep, not your every day coin hunting setup but a machine that can be used for Relic,CW,Hoard Hunting call it what ever you like.

This may be of interest to some folks, but i thought i would take advantage of a coil that some folks seem to off load at a loss and its my gain,i just had to think out side the box.

Well i took the T2 with the 15'' coil out over the weekend and must admit after altering the attachment point of the harness to find the best position,i can swing this combination around for most of the day.Found the best position point to mount the Bungee was just above the middle to bottom rod connection as this i feeel takes all the weight of the coil and very pleased with it.

I wont keep this coil on the T2 all the time,as i bought it mainly for deep hoard hunting or detecting on pasture,i have a spare middle/bottom rod all ready setup with the coil attached so basically all i do is change over the whole stem from just under neath the control box and this takes all of maybe 2 minutes and from using it with the stock coil to a hoard hunter very quickly.

Of course this is only how i have found a use for it and it may help someone else,it certainly is a very deep combination for sure,so would be good for CW,cache and hoard hunter, the latter is what i use it on a few of my roman sites.

I've used the 15" coil on my F75 and didn't find it to be all that heavy. Obviously heavier then the stock 11" DD coil, but to be expected.
