I have the stock legend and I am thinking about adding the small coil. Tell me how it does with the latest software performance wise in iron and trash infested sites. Thanks in advance!

I like the 6 inch coil and use it pretty much exclusively in places where it works, curbs, fence line, against structures, ect. The stock is OK, but too heavy for my needs in sports fields, wide open parks ect. The Vanquish 12 in takes care of these places, simply because of weight. I am 68 yrs old and waiting for a medium size coil to take up 70 % of my detecting. The legend is my premier detector of the 5 detectors I have and use.I have the stock legend and I am thinking about adding the small coil. Just for giggles…….did you raise the sensitivity higher to see if the target would come in louder/stronger ?….In general and in a lot of cases, when the targets I hit are somewhat quiet, raising the sensitivity is the first thing I reach for…..Of course there is always the headlights in fog scenario…..ThanksManual advises to set as high as possible where no major popping sounds are heard to avoid missing smaller and deeper targets. I think they are right about that as I’m hearing deeper targets (depending on location its either set at 15 or 20) but the VDIs are not always registering either. I’ve dug a couple targets with higher tones that do not register numbers but the pinpointer still locates and pinpoints and basically thats how I located the deep IH.
Arboretum is located next to the university television studio so there is some chatter as a result.
