Just trying to get back on the forum. I've got the hood up on this antique-of-a-computer and am changing the plugs.

Testing: Testing: Testing: :D

I'm actually among friends again!!!!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and for that matter Happy Thanksgiving. I'm back in the saddle again (at least for a little while).

Tom is still off line (no computer) and Linda is on and off, health permitting.

I've been lurking and even submitted a story or two to Linda but she could never get them posted to the forum because she received them garbled, for some reason.

C'mon springtime.

...I breathed a little prayer that all I wanted was a little piece of ground and to live in relative peace.

We bought this ten acres with retirement in mind, eleven years ago and this is where I will remain.

George, I have had a multitude of computer problems that resulted in me not being able to access ANY findsmall forums. Now that was a blow because I rountinely accessed the beach and water forums and the dive forums. But for many a month, I have been unable to access any of them.

Yes I did retire and am enjoying it very much. I had more than 40 years of service combining the service time and my time with three Federal agencies (the National Guard, the IRS and finally the Corps of Engineers). It finally got to be "my turn" and I took it.

I am in great health and since retiring have lost 19 pounds and hope to lose 20 more. It makes me feel great and I am more active than ever, fishing and hunting three days a week and good for little else right now. :D

I look forward to the archery "winter hunt" (Jan and Februrary) for whitetail deer and wild turkey. With a little luck I can fill my tag, holed up in a Double Bull blind, hovering over a denatured alcohol heater until they come along!

Also, Lord willing, I'm looking forward to the spring spawn of crappie and largemouth bass.

I'm like a kid in a candy store. It's the first time in my life I have ever been able to pursue these things FULL TIME. Retiring at 60, I can still walk all day and scale the hills. I do admit that I keep a bottle of Aleve gel caps handy, though! lol

Good to hear from you.

Retirement is great. Took me a little time to get used to it as I was used to being flat out. Actually I was organized for work and not play. But once I got the hang of play, I think I mastered it pretty well. Few problems health wise but I found work arounds for those so far. Think I remember you buying a pontoon boat and motor, dive gear etc. Looks like your ready for fun and frolic to me. Hey, you earned it. Like most of the others here, I wonder where I ever found time to work with all the neat fun stuff their is to do. I retired early, age 48. A little to early as there was no one to share the fun with as they were all working. I found things I could do alone and once again, you adapt.

The best of health to you in your retirement years. Thats the biggest X factor I see in it all.

My son moved to Texas and now no one fools with my computer anymore. Methinks the boy knew just enough about it to make him dangerous. Anyways, it seems to be running well again. At least findmall let me on two days runnin' now and that is a miracle!
