My buddy and I hit the spot we now call the "bank" as it has given up something around 1200 coins, modern, wheats and now some silver over the course of about six hunts. The last three hunts on the spot it has yielded me silver each hunt. Today, it gave up 4 Mercury dimes, 1 40, 42, 43d and a 45. Each hunt has yielded wheat cents, 60 + so far, and today was no exception. I got 5 with dates of 46, 47, 53, 30 and 46.

On a earlier hunt at the "bank" this week I got the 45p war nickel and the 1920d Merc. The day before that my buddy and I were at another old spot and I recovered back to back Indian Head's, 1903 and then the 1887.

I had fresh from the ground shots on all the silvers shown, but the post would have been pretty picture heavy. Shown, however, is a fresh from the ground shot of one of today's digs when I recovered 2 Mercury dimes in the same hole. Found the first one in the clod and upon rechecking the hole found the other. And, one shot is of some of the curio's found. My buddy found both cars and passed them along to me as I collect dug toy cars. The "bank" is starting to now yield some nice interest. :detecting: HH jim tn

Talk about motivation to get out for the next hunt, that's some exciting finds Jim. How big is this bank area in relation to football field? This could keep producing silver for a long time.

The spot is kind of broken up, but is probably about two thirds of a square city block in size. It could be one of those spots that just keeps on giving. Between us, we captured another 175 modern coins today. It is no wonder it took so long for silver to show up. To many modern coins in the way.......and still plenty more. Thanks all, HH jim tn

Congrats jim tn on your finds and the "BANK". Nothing like finding a location that yields as much as you & your friend have recovered. Wish you many more while dirt fishing.

That's a good size area to hunt out, I'm guessing at least a 100 hours to get it picked clean and maybe more if it's wooded and brushy.

My buddy and I combined have 70-75 hours on one portion of it and it is still giving up sizable numbers of coins. I just worked the edges of one area this morning and pulled another 57 modern coins from it and also a war nickel and a buffalo nickel + 2 wheat cents and 3 junk jewelry pieces. With all the modern coins and trash, won't ever be hunted out. One small area is wall to wall trash and tackling it with small coils is our next project. Interesting spot, for sure. HH jim tn

Incredible !!!

Do you know what the land was used for before?
Fairgrounds, school, BANK (LOL) ???
Congrats and I think you're right.....I don't think it'll ever be hunted out.

I'm jealous

My buddy hit it a couple of times while I was out of town and he pulled another 150 + clad and cents from it along with 1 silver dime and a silver Air Force ring some more wheats and some junk jewelry. As best as we can tell it was probably 30-40's era housing. HH jim tn
