I ran the CTX in manual 28 today with the stock coil. I was trying to hit a couple deep ones. Even if the target is not deep the higher sensitivity seems to light them up better. Even pull them off the iron better. The Merc was at the depth of the pro pointer and was probably the deepest target today. The seated was about 5 inches. This is the fourth seated dime from this site for me. I also scored 1 Indian (dateless) and 7 crusty wheats.
Some places in the field the CTX was noisy on manual 28. That was to be expected. But over all the CTX does continue to surprise me. This is maybe my 12th hunt with it. And on almost every hunt the CTX will light up a target that most people would walk away from. Scratchy, Two way hitting if you coax it. But something about the CTX tells me to dig them. And I am usually very surprised with a keeper. Those that know me can tell you that I am hard to please with a detector. I don't care how much it costs. If it stinks it stinks. I will go on record and say the CTX is a very good detector.
