Hey guys i own an f4 and recently went detecting on the beach for about 3 and a half hours, the salt water always gives it phantom signals, what do you recommend i do with the setting to make it more proficient by the sea? Btw i found a junk ring some junk earrings and an ipod, and of course the usual clad. but yea if you have suggestions please tell me!! thanks GL and HH --Padraig Lysandrou

My f5 will do the samething. I just GB the best I can and go hunting, only thing else you can really do is wait for low tide and let the sun dry the wet sand a little.

If the phantoms are real bad, raising the coil of the sand may help reduce them. Of course, some depth is lost, but hey, your still detecting the wet sand. Heck, you may find a gold ring at 1":)

I'm running an F5, don't know if this helps. My beaches are pretty mild, but I still have to reduce sens 25-40 and threshold -2 or less to get stable in the wet stuff. Depth seems to suffer a bit as I've never dug a target at more than 6" when running like this.
