Went for a mid afternoon hunt today at my favourite spot. Picked up just over $6 for a 90min hunt. One of the $2 coins that I found gave what appeared to be 2 separate signal in different notches with 2 separate pinpoint hits. I assumed that I had 2 separate targets, so I pulled out the Pro-pointer to check. Just had the one target that was covered by some cut grass. I double checked with the GTI, but no other targets present. Very odd.
The reason for the heading is that it was 41 degrees Celsius when I was hunting. If I'd tried that with the Explorer, from what I read on the explorer forum a couple of days ago, the LCD screen would have blacked out. Never heard of a detector fainting before.
I'll go out again tomorrow afternoon as the temp is to hit 44 degrees in town and according to the front page of a major Sydney newspaper, the town west of here will hit 47 degrees, which will make it the hottest place on the planet for the day. Just got to test out Garretts ability to handle the heat.
Hey Lazy. I just saw the news on the TV. I see Melbourne had it's hottest day ever today at 46 degrees!
Hope your doing all right.
Actually, the heat is a detectorist friend. Today was the first time in a while I've been able to hunt my favourite site without being annoyed by a bunch of 6 to 10 year old kids coming up, asking endless questions, stepping on the coil and diving on the coins that I find. Gotta love it.
