I was at a show a few weeks ago, and heard that sound everyone fears at a gem, rock, and fossil show.... a gem/rock/fossil falling to the ground!
Its never a question of if, but when. I am not sure what type of rock fell, but it fell because of the way it was set up, and the dealer didn't make a fuss about it. It did break into 3 pieces though from what I saw.
The lesson from this? Keep a safe distance from the displays and be very, very careful.
BTW, anyone else have any show nightmares to add? I'd be interested to hear about the horrors.
