Hello all. I hope eveeyone is taking full advantage of this beautidful weather were having. Now to my question. Ive been detecting for several years but the f75 se is new to me. What is the best way or settting to handle trashy iron infested old home sights. I want to keep all the depth i can. Im not having emf or emi problems many people complaign about but am digging a few emptyy holes at greater depths. I know its my ignorance amd not the f. Any suggestions.also looking for someone to hunt with near Auburn Alabama. Maby a club to meet other thers. Thank you all for ur help and ur time....jeremi mann in bama

The F75's do not loose depth with high disc, so you can crank it up and notch in what you want from the lower disc like nickels.

From me the key setting is one tone, that gets rid of all that chatter.

Ron in WV and welcome to the forum

The 5" DD coil could be very useful in the iron. May sacrifice a little depth, but co-located coins/iron can really add up. Not everything good...is necessarily super deep. First Texas really outdid themselves on the 5" DD coil in my opinion.

I like cleaning out with the 5 then going back with the 11. Not either, both.

You are losing a lot of diggable targets with discrimination. I don't like the "all metal" mode in trashy areas though. What I do is set discrimination to zero and use 2F tone. I just swing away until I get a high tone, then look at the VDI. Works great. The 5 inch coil is also a HUGE help.

I agree with the last post. I use similar settings with 3 tones and look for the high hits. I have also learned that the F75 is very sensitive and will hit on deep targets with lower sensitivity than some would think. I hit a silver Washington at 6-7 inches in extreme trash at a 50 sensitivity with the 11 in coil. I have found that running the machine very stable in high trash increases my finds and get alot less iron falsing. In a few of my sites I noticed that much of the iron was deeper than the coins I was finding, so when I was running 80 sensitivity I was hitting hard on old nails and missing alot of good stuff. When I turned the machine down a bit the place opened up and the coins started coming out in the 6-7 inch range and the machine didn't hit so hard on the old deep square nails.
