Bryce...sent you a PM

According to Bob's post...you guys got the minelab lightweight 11" coil...not the 10 x 12 detech SEF coil. So it don't suck for me bro:clapping:

my pounded sites. I hope the new minelab 11" pro coil does well for people too...but I've had my ears...and my eyes on the 10 x 12 excelerator SEF coil for quite a few months now...so that's the one I'm gonna put through the paces.
I was amazed at how well my 10 x 14 excelerator did at my pounded places...so I can't wait to see how the 10 x 12 sef does. If I had any nails left...I'd be chewin' 'em too...but I already gnawed them off.:detecting:

Bryce,

I think mattockman is challenging you to a "throw-down"! :argue:

How about one of those ghetto St. Louis parks (Ofallon in the trash heap), the man with the most silver in 8 hours takes the other guys machine, and his new coil. Then we'll really know who's in second!!!

LOL!

My money's on you!! :yo: Good luck with your new coil!!!!!

I was just kidding bryce about getting a SEF....and I would never have a throw down with the Bobbie Flay of detecting Mr. Bryce....I am no way as lucky as Mr. Bryce, I would rather have him on my team than be against him. But I can say the SEF coils are no big secret to me.....:smoke:

I've seen and read over the last few months. The SEF coils are a little heavier than the new minelab 11"...but go VERY deep. I couldn't care less about a few ounces one way or the other...so the choice was easy for me. People's settings they use greatly affect the performance of a coil...and we all have different results with different coils. Perfect example....when I first bought my 10 x 14 Excelerator ..used off the forum right after they came out...I put some hunt time on it with okay results...but not as good as I expected. At that time I was finding stuff...but nothing like I am now...because I was still in the experimenting process of what settings to use. I sold my 10 x 14 because I just wasn't getting the results I wanted.
It seemed to me like my settings experimenting really started clicking a few months ago when I found a combination of things that really paid off for me in the field. I then picked up a second 10 x 14 coil and used much different settings than when I hunted with the first one. NO more all metal....NO more ferrous sounds...NO more manual sensitivity...NO more low gain. I now had committed to Conductive sounds...some iron mask...semi auto sensitivity...and HIGH gain. The difference in the 10 x 14's performance was astonishing. I was finding stuff that I had walked over with every other coil...INCLUDING the 1050 coil...which I LOVE. The 10 x 14 gets a little heavy at times...but to this point it's the one coil i can take anywhere I've hunted with every other coil i own...and still have the confidence to pop some old coins out of the ground. I hope the sef 10 x 12 responds well to my settings...and I think it will from what I've read.
I can't wait to give it a whirl. Take care buddy.

Neither do I, but everytime I try to give him a compliment he justs says its luck.....I think Bryce caught on very fast to his machine and went right for the intestines, the guts the whole anchalatta! and he succeeds cause he trys everything till it works for him. So If Bryce or you thinks I am putting him down thats just not so. I have had the opportunity to use a SEF coil, before anyone ever heard of it and I must say it seems very good.....I am going to get a smaller SEF coil and a Minelab Pro 11" coil and just have fun....not WAR.....Have fun guys.....Later.......:detecting:

I have the explorer and I want to buy a new coil. Which one should I go with Bryce? I have the one that came with it and I have a 4.5 X 7 excelerator coil. I love the 4.5 because it's so easy to pinpoint and it seems like it finds all the goodies in between all the crap. I was thinking the one that your getting or the 10 X 14 or the new 11" from Minelab? Please let me know what you think I have a few good spots that I have found 1917 wheaties but there only about 3 or 4". I know there is more out there but I can't get to it. There is alot of trash on these sites but I need to get around it and deeper:confused:

I did not like the stock slimline coil that came on it. some people liked it..and some didn't. I absolutely love the 6" excelerator coil...but if you already have the 4.5 x 7...there really is no reason to get the 6". I don't know what settings you are using..but the 4.5 x 7 coil hit silver dimes for me from 6" to 7" amidst trash....it's a good coil.
The 10 x 14 excelerator is an absolute killer...but gets a little heavy after a few hours. Once you hit a silver dime at 9" or 10" with a nail or other trash item in the hole though...you won't care about the weight:thumbup: It also separates better than any other big coil I've ever used...hands down.
Right now I first pound a site with my ex2 1050 coil...then repound it again with the 10 x 14 excelerator...then pound it for a third time with the 6" excelerator coil.
I don't use an 8" coil...but there are a couple of good ones...the minelab...and the sunray.
James ND also always has tons of great finds with the Joey coil. That is another good coil and I did have one of those for a while...but always came running back to my 6" excelerator. It separates like a 4" coil but gets the depth of a 10" coil...so what more could I want? The only reason i don't have it on all the time is because sometimes the area is just too big and i need to cover more ground per sweep.
As for the new minelab 11" coil....I would give it a little time before you decide on it. I think it will be a good coil..but only a little time will tell. There are a few experienced hunters who already have...or will have that coil and they will be posting on it. It might turn out to be a great coil so I would give it a few weeks and see how the reports come in. Same as with the sef coil I'm trying. It should be a winner too...so just check out posts as they come in.
Now that I'm done rambling:bouncy:...the coils I can recommend from my own personal experience that i have already had good success with...the Minelab 1050 coil...the excelerator 10 x 14 coil...and the excelerator 6" coil.
Also please remember all I have said is my own personal experiences and tests. Each person has their own settings they prefer and different settings...coils...and sites will obviously give different results.

Thanks Bryce, I have the SE. I think I will try the 10 X 14 that you recomended. I'm not too worried about the weight either I'm only 31 and in good shape. :starwars:
